Staff Award Summaries
Humanities Stellar Staff Award is awarded to a College of Humanities staff member who exemplifies excellence in service. If a college staff member has significantly helped you recently or goes above and beyond duty on a regular basis, we invite you to nominate them. Please email your nomination to humstaffcouncil@lists.utah.edu with the subject line "Stellar Staff Nomination" and briefly tell us about the outstanding efforts of that person. The call for nominations is sent out in the fall. Nominations are due in late November.
College Staff Excellence Award is awarded to a College of Humanities’ full-time staff member (.75 FTE and above with 2+ years of service) for their exemplary service and significant professional contributions. Dean’s Office staff are ineligible. Faculty and staff are encouraged to submit nominations. Nominations include a letter of nomination, a letter of support from the nominee’s chair/director, and the nominee’s current resume. Additional letters of support from students and colleagues are encouraged. The call for nominations is sent out in the spring. Nominations are due the first Monday of April. University Staff Excellence Awards recognizes superior service and ongoing contributions by the University of Utah's full-time and part-time staff employees. Faculty and staff are encouraged to nominate a staff member who meets the eligibility criteria. The call for nominations is sent out in the spring. Nominations are due in late June. Staff Scholarship Programs
College Staff Professional Development Grant supports continuing professional education and training for all College of Humanities staff members. Funds can be used to cover conference attendance, registration, membership dues, or tuition/fees related to professional development. Non-academic staff in the College of Humanities are eligible to apply. Applications are accepted on an ongoing basis and reviewed twice per year. Learn more and submit application. University Staff Professional Development Award supports continuing professional education and training for all University of Utah staff members. Each award may be up to $500. Applications are accepted on an ongoing basis and reviewed three times per year: September 15th, January 30th, and April 15th. Learn more and submit application.
Tom Loveridge Staff Scholarship is specifically for courses taught through the University of Utah and is awarded twice a year to a full-time staff member who exemplifies the service and dedication that Tom Loveridge personified. Each award may be up to $1,250. Applications are accepted on an ongoing basis and reviewed two times per year: January 15th and August 31st. Learn more and submit application.
