Dr. Alfaro, visiting from Mexico, will discuss how art helped reunite Mexico following the tumultuous Mexican Revolution that took place during Frida Kahlo’s childhood. Post-Revolutionary Mexican art was, for decades, a decisive factor in cultural dynamics and social stability. Today, it stands as an example of how art can inspire a society in search of new ways of achieving harmony.
