I just published the piece in Bird Watcher's Digest (I haven't seen it yet but have had a friend and one sister contact me about it), continue freelance proofreading for the University of Utah Press, and we are defying the odds and gardening in the Sonoran Desert despite 100+ degree temperatures. The monsoons are about to start, by all accounts, and what rain has already fallen has caused a sudden rebirth of verdure in the parched environment. It is pretty amazing to watch the changes.
